ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS

This collection of photographs dates from the early seventies to the present. It represents my interest in architectural images and the history of the built environment. The pictures were taken with a variety of Nikon 35mm format single lens reflex cameras.

Before I started to take digital photographs I used diapositive colour film and rarely black & white negative film, relying on Kodachrome for most of them. Hence the colours of some of my very old photographs have survived quite well. I use a Coolscan V ED slide scanner to scan the transparencies. I adopted digital photography with a Nikon D100 in 2003, and soon abandoned film and my old darkroom altogether.
